EFR= Enhanced Full Rate, a speech coding standard;

Enhanced Full Rate or EFR or GSM-EFR is a speech coding standard that was developed in order to improve the quite poor quality of GSM-Full Rate (FR) codec. Working at 12.2 kbit/s the EFR provides wirelike quality in any noise free and background noise conditions. The EFR 12.2 kbit/s speech coding standard is compatible with the highest AMR mode.

The Economic Faculty Association Rotterdam (EFR) has more than 3000 members and is one of the most active faculty associations in the Netherlands.

The EFR sets objectives for the students by filling the gap between theory and practical. They do this by organising a large number of activities. One of the most popular activities is EFR-Business Week, the largest student congress in the Netherlands. Rotterdam

 

EFR=  École Française de Radioélectricité, now EFREI;

EFREI (École d'Ingénieurs des Technologies de l'Information et du Management) (lit Engineering School of Information Technologies and Management) is a French private engineering school, whose courses, specializing in computer science and management, are taught with support from the state. Students who graduate earn an engineering degree accredited by the CTI (national commission for engineering degree accreditation). The degree is equivalent to Master's degree in the European higher education area. Today, there are more than 4,500 EFREI graduates working in companies dealing with many different activities: education, human resources development, business/marketing, company management, legal advice and so on.

 

EFR=  Ecological Fiscal Reform, Ecotax

Ecotaxes are often proposed by Green political parties and conservationist interest groups. Tax shifting usually includes balancing taxation levels to be revenue-neutral for government and to maintain overall progressivity. Taxes on consumption may take the feebate approach advocated by Amory Lovins in which additional fees on less sustainable products — such as sport utility vehicles — are pooled to fund subsidies on more sustainable alternatives — such as hybrid electric vehicles. The object of a green tax shift is often to implement a "full cost accounting", using fiscal policy to internalize market distorting externalities, which leads to higher efficiency and sustainable wealth creation. Although ecotaxes or green taxes are often opposed by conservative groups (or proposed by environmentalist movements), they are not easily characterized in this way. Basic economic theory recognizes the existence of externalities and their potential negative effects. To the extent that green taxes correct for externalities such as pollution, they correspond with mainstream economic theory. In practice, however, setting the correct taxation level or the tax collection system needed to do so is difficult, and may lead to further distortions or unintended consequences.
